New Braunfels is a city located in Texas, United States. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 36,494. It is the county seat of Comal County6.

New Braunfels has a sizeable German-ethnic community. The town holds an German-style festival, Wurstfest, every October. It is the site of one of the most famous water parks in the United States, the Schlitterbahn WaterPark Resort.

New Braunfels is the setting of the movie Small Soldiers. Also, the German movie Schultze Gets the Blues [1] (released 2004) contains some scenes shot and taking place in New Braunfels.
