West Columbia is a city located in Brazoria County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 4,255. The first Congress of the Republic of Texas was convened there in October 1836 (it was then named simply Columbia).

Multnomah Falls is a tall waterfall on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge. Multnomah Creek, whose origin is Larch Mountain, drops in two major steps that are usually given as 542 feet and 69 feet, respectively. That totals 611 feet, but the falls' height is often given as 620 feet. That might take into account a third, small plunge that lies just upstream from the top of the 542 foot drop, and which is out of sight from below.

History
Columbia City was founded in 1867 by Jacob and Joseph Caples, with asperations of becoming the terminus for Ben Holliday's Willamette Valley railroad. As Portland, Oregon was the terminus of the west side line in 1870, Columbia city never achieved its expected growth.
Currently, Columbia City serves as a suburb of St. Helens, Oregon.
