Cuba is a village located in Allegany County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 1,633.

The Village of Cuba is in the western part of the Town of Cuba at the junction of Routes 305 and 406.

History
The Village of Cuba was incorporated in 1850.

Geography
Cuba is located at 42°13′3″ North, 78°16′30″ West (42.217743, -78.275261)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 3.1 km˛ (1.2 mi˛). None of the area is covered with water, but Cuba Lake is northwest of the village.

The Southern Tier Expressway (Interstate 86 and New York 17) passes north of the village. Route 305 is an important north-south trunk road passing through the village. The village is near the border of Cattaraugus County, New York border and is south of Cuba Lake.

Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 1,633 people, 636 households, and 410 families residing in the village. The population density is 529.8/km˛ (1,369.0/mi˛). There are 698 housing units at an average density of 226.5/km˛ (585.1/mi˛).
