Folly Beach is a city located in Charleston County, South Carolina. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 2,116.

Geography
Folly Beach is located at 32°39′58″ North, 79°56′21″ West (32.666152, -79.939213)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 48.3 km˛ (18.6 mi˛). 31.8 km˛ (12.3 mi˛) of it is land and 16.5 km˛ (6.4 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 34.23% water.

Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 2,116 people, 1,060 households, and 489 families residing in the city. The population density is 66.6/km˛ (172.7/mi˛). There are 1,747 housing units at an average density of 55.0/km˛ (142.5/mi˛). The racial makeup of the city is 96.64% White, 0.76% African American, 0.47% Native American, 0.19% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.52% from other races, and 1.42% from two or more races. 1.42% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
