Bridgman : Michigan
Bridgman is a city located in Berrien County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 2,428.
In the wake of the Columbine High School massacre on April 20, 1999, a series of threats to commit violence in local schools appeared. On May 26, 1999, the FBI traced an email message containing a threat to a Bridgman High School student, Albert Madejczyk, who was charged with extortion on June 7, 1999. Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.6 km² (2.9 mi²). 7.6 km² (2.9 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 2,428 people, 998 households, and 649 families residing in the city. The population density is 320.0/km² (829.4/mi²). There are 1,140 housing units at an average density of 150.2/km² (389.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 96.33% White, 0.70% African American, 0.37% Native American, 0.45% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.95% from other races, and 1.15% from two or more races. 1.81% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
