Wayne : Michigan

Wayne is a city located in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 19,051. Ford Motor Company has two plants here; assembling the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator in one, and the Ford Focus in the other.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 15.6 km˛ (6.0 mi˛). 15.6 km˛ (6.0 mi˛) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 19,051 people, 7,373 households, and 4,844 families residing in the city. The population density is 1,221.9/km˛ (3,165.2/mi˛). The racial makeup of the city is 84.36% White, 11.29% African American, 0.61% Native American, 1.44% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.43% from other races, and 1.82% from two or more races. 1.94% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

New Boston is an unincorporated community in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It had a population of 1300 people in 1990. It is on the Huron River at 42° 09? 45? N 83° 24? 11? W, just south of Romulus, Michigan. Interstate 275 passes to the east of the community with exit 13 providing easy access. New Boston was first settled around 1820 and was originally called "Catville" after the initials of C. A. Trowbridge, its proprietor. It received a post office in 1860.
