Beaver Dam is a city located in Dodge County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 15,169. The city is located within the Town of Beaver Dam. The mascot of Beaver Dam High School is the Beaver Dam Golden Beaver. Beaver Dam Lake, the states 16th largest lake, borders the city. Famous actor Fred MacMurray spent his childhood in Beaver Dam and graduated from Beaver Dam High School.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 17.0 km˛ (6.6 mi˛). 13.5 km˛ (5.2 mi˛) of it is land and 3.5 km˛ (1.3 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 20.43% water.
