Beecher is a village located in Will County, Illinois. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 2,033. It was founded in 1870 and named for Henry Ward Beecher. It is located on the old Chicago and Eastern Illinois Railroad and the Dixie Highway.
The nearest towns are Crete, Illinois, 7 miles north; Grant Park, Illinois, 6 miles south; Peotone, Illinois, 8 miles west and Cedar Lake, Indiana, 8 miles east.
